About Tim Roby
Tim Roby, CBAP since 2017, is helping Oregon DMV maintain customer focus using his years of experience. DMV recently, successfully completed their core system replacement and modernization project with customer-centric BA’s like Tim on the project making sure the customer’s experience remained in focus. Before joining DMV Tim was a BA for the Oregon Health Authority’s Behavioral Health Measures and Outcomes Tracking System (MOTS), where his customer focus contributed to increased value to customers through system maintenance and enhancements. Tim is a member of the Business Analyst Networking Group (BANG) planning team and the primary facilitator for their Forums. You may have heard his voice via Skype during the kickoff meeting this past April. Tim is a career BA who is very passionate about advancing the practice of BA in state government and helping BAs develop and create meaningful value for their organizations.
Being a Customer Focused Business Analyst
Being a Customer Focused BA is the key to powering the project economy as a successful BA in the new paradigm. BAs have the opportunity with our unique combination of competencies and skills to bring real value to the project economy through Customer Focused BA. In this session, we will examine industry defining documentation and best practices, like the IIBA® BABOK ® v3 and Agile Extension v2, to understand how Customer Focus should be embedded in every aspect of our BA work. We will look at BA techniques and tools that we can use to maintain Customer Focus and create meaningful value for our organizations and customers.
