The PMI Willamette Valley Chapter 2020 – 2021 Leadership term elections open Monday, 16 September 2019 and close Wednesday, 16 October 2019. This notice of elections is required by our Chapter Bylaws.
Our annual election for Chapter Leadership positions occurs in advance of our annual Strategic Planning Summit. This provides newly elected Leaders to participate in the Project and Program planning for the next budget year. Below are details…
Chapter Leadership positions for the 2020 – 2021 term:
- Chapter VP Finance
- Chapter VP Programs
- Chapter VP Membership
- Chapter VP Technology
- Salem Branch President
Position statements: It is best to read and understand the position statement before completing a nominee form. Each Chapter Leadership position statement speaks to the responsibilities and authorities of that position. Being a PMI Chapter, each Volunteer Leader is held to the PMI code of ethics, confidentiality and conflict of interest policies. These documents will be available on our website in the next week.
Chapter Leadership term of service: The duly elected Volunteer Leaders will serve a two year term from January 2020 – December 2021. Our Bylaws limit Chapter Leadership positions to three consecutive terms.
Elections Timeframes: Open 9:00 pm Monday, 16 September 2019 and close 5:00 pm Wednesday, 16 October 2019
Election process: We will be utilizing the PMI Global election application “Votenet”. An electronic voting system that verifies your membership in good standing, tallies your vote and provides the results to the Chapter Election Official.
Who should vote: You must be a member in good standing with PMI Global and the PMI Willamette Valley Chapter. Our voting system utilizes the PMI Global membership list. That list take 3 – 7 business days to update your new or renewal action to verify your membership. Check out your membership well in advance of the election. Each member has one vote.
And the WHY you should vote: Those that practice the discipline of Project Management are not all Project or Program Managers. They are Project Management Practitioners that incudes Business Analyst, Risk Analyst, Researchers, Technicians, Engineers, Educators, Contractors, Recognized speakers, Logistics, Contract and the list goes on. Our Chapter is dynamic and works to remains relevant to all Practitioners through education, workshops and social events. In the past years we have established relationships with educational institutions such as Corban University, Oregon State University, and Lane Community College. These are opportunities for students and educators to begin or continue their career growth. Our Professional Development Conference, 18 October 2019, has grown and now collaborates with the State of Oregon Project Management Advisory Board for a combined informative and educational event. We invite anyone interested in helping develop services to our members and beyond to consider Volunteer service as a Chapter Leader. Join us in these exciting times!
