Welcome to PMI Willamette Valley Chapter

PMIWV is centric in providing professional development through formal, established local networking and educational opportunities in project management. Here you receive support, opportunities to meet with peers from various industries through meetings, and engage in activities and educational programs.

  • Our Mission is to encourage and facilitate education, certification, and professional growth in project management.
  • Our Vision is to be a successful, vital and relevant project management community.
  • We are Unique as Salem, Corvallis, and Eugene branches. We support project management acumen in government, health care, engineering, higher education, and construction in the greater Willamette Valley.

As we enter the month of March, let us take advantage of PMIWV’s provided educational opportunities as well as the much-deserved Spring Break!!

In our January and February Director meetings we discussed the need for a Willamette Valley PMI Chapter Leadership transition and succession plan. Transition and succession are activities that take place in other Chapters from a President-Elect position and/or a Succession Plan where Chapter Leaders “mature” through levels of service to the membership.

The President-Elect position is an elected position that requires Bylaws discussion, then a vote by Chapter Leadership. As the President-Elect works alongside the serving President during last year of term, they share all Presidential activities and responsibilities. This gives the President-Elect opportunity to socialize and build consensus with our partners, collaborators, and fellow leaders. The President-Elect position is posted on the ballet for serving during the President’s last year on their term limit. (Note: The term limit for serving in a PMIWV Chapter Leadership position, i.e. elected position, is 3 consecutive 2-year terms).

The Directors would appreciate your input and guidance on ways to improve Transition and Succession Planning for Chapter Leadership. In other Chapters there are informal processes where a future President “matures” through active Volunteering, serving as a Branch Leader/Project Manager and working in outreach opportunities.

Please direct your comments and guidance directly to me at president@pmiwv.org for distribution to the Chapter Leadership. Our March director meeting is To-Be-Determined, however, please feel free to provide input by 5 March 2018 for inclusion in the agenda.
