Mind Mapping – A Vulcan's Guide to Project Management

Presenter: Terry Pickering, MBA, CAPM, CSM

Mind mapping is an alternative to classic project management software. Mind mapping can be used for brainstorming, note taking, organizing ideas, and to communicate to your stakeholders the status of your project.

Define your project, create action plans, work breakdown structures, milestone progress, even risk analysis, using visual diagrams that for many users are easier to understand.
There are a variety of mind mapping software products that are relatively inexpensive and well suited for Project Management. During the presentation, Terry will demonstrate the basics of mind mapping software using a small project currently in progress. He'll explain how he uses mind mapping to enhance and supplement more traditional tools such as Microsoft Project. At the end of the evening you'll leave with a better understanding of what mind mapping is and how you can incorporate it into your next project.
