Please join us for the first of our Hot Seat Summer Series!
This will be a fun, interactive session where one of our local chapter members with a tenured, distinguished career takes the “hot seat” to be grilled (aka; interviewed) about their journey, the trials and jubilations experienced, and what has influenced them along the way.
Facilitator, Kim Cude, will lead the interview and encourage audience participation to ask questions and engage in spirited discussion about the interviewee’s real-world experiences, challenges, and how to keep it together in an ever-changing world.
First Hot Seat Interviewee: Matt Barton, MBA, PMP
Meet our first interviewee, Matt Barton.
Matt Barton is a recognized leader in the private and public sector with over 20 years of experience as an IT professional in leadership, strategic planning, project management, cybersecurity, business analysis, product lifecycle management, enterprise architecture, system integration, compliance, and procurement. He is a Sr. Partner with Whitlock Consulting Group (WCG). At WCG Matt partners with utilities to improve processes, implement new technologies, and deliver effective organizational change management.
Before WCG, Matt served as the Chief Information Officer at Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) where he developed a 10-Year Information Services Strategic Plan and the supporting Technical Application Roadmap. During his time at EWEB, Matt was the project co-sponsor for EWEB’s AMI Implementation, CIS Replacement, and Customer Experience Enhancement Projects.
Matt and his wife live in Eugene, OR. He enjoys cooking, traveling, and volunteering with Court Appointed Special Advocates advocating for children in foster care.
Shared from Matt ~ Three things that made me the person I am today:
1. Getting married to my wife: she's really taught me a lot!
2. Volunteering with CASA: this has really opened my eyes and helped reshape some of my world views.
3. Living through 2020/2021: sounds cliche but having more time and a couple of life changes gave me time to work on some personal things and find balance in my life again.
We look forward to this new format for our summer series, and hope you enjoy the opportunity to gain knowledge through sharing out of another colleague’s experience. Please email any questions you have for the interviewee ahead of time to Kim Cude, VP Programs at email@example.com. If you have suggestions for future Hot Seat interviewees, please email their name and contact info to this same address.
