Oregon State University welcomes applications for the position of Coordinator – IT Project 1 (Working Title: Project Manager) within the Research Office. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Research, the Project Manager provides project management expertise to all aspects of the Research Office. This position is responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects across multiple functional areas and provides leadership and planning to ensure that projects are effectively delivered.
Duties involved with these projects may include: defining project scope; performing business analysis; developing project objectives, plans, requirements, schedules, and budgets; and managing vendor relationships. In addition, this position will communicate project progress across all levels of the organization, including project team, sponsors, faculty/staff, and leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems or a related technical field, OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
4 years of progressive project management experience in a technology focused role.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Ability to motivate and manage individuals and teams to deliver successfully on projects with no direct supervisory relationship.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong decision-making skills, including ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience implementing and using workflow and project management software.
One or more related certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Other related certifications may be considered.
Experience with research.
Understanding of or interest in learning about research compliance with federal regulations.
Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Experience with vendor and contract negotiation.
Experience in leading business change processes that leverage technology (Process Re-engineering/Redesign).
Experience in project management specifically related to web-based software.
Recommended Full Time (1.0 FTE) Salary Range:
$67,620 - $118,404
